Ross was born in Dalton, Georgia, a small community that helped shape his values early on. He grew up in a family rooted in local business and hard work. That foundation stayed with him.
His path was not always smooth. After college, Ross applied to law school and was not accepted the first time. Instead of stepping back, he leaned in.
“I did not get into law school the first time,” he says. “So I spent a year teaching high school civics. That experience changed how I saw public service.”
That year gave him perspective. It also reinforced his belief that education can open doors. He applied again and was accepted. He went on to earn his law degree, later adding an MBA to strengthen his leadership and financial skills.
Ross also became a football letterman at the University of Georgia. That experience helped shape his discipline and team mindset, both of which show up in his leadership style today.
